    Melbourne F1 2017- Who's going?

    Looking to book tickets and accommodation over the weekend for this years F1 in Melbourne. First race with the new regs so should be interesting.

    I'm travelling sans-nopics this year, so would be keen for a PF meetup in the city and/or trackside if there are a few of you cunts also going.

    Sounds like there will be a few PFers around. Which would work better for everyone, Friday or Saturday beers?

    I'll probably fly down Friday and back Monday, and will AirBnB it, so I can do whatever the collective wants.

    Also, does Melbourne have a caberat club equivalent?

    Yep nopics got me/us for Father's day 4 day Gold passes. On the main straight basically on the start finish line. Will scope out the best seating spots for another year. Treating ourselves to a stay in an Art series hotel.

    Just booked tickets now. Fuck all 4 day grandstand seats available, so ended up in the Clark stand. AirBnb booked a room at Southbank so that should be good, only a 15 minute walk to the track, and 7 minutes to Kittens apparently.

    Defs this, just walk back after the race, as the trams are fucked then. Fine the rest of the weekend though

    18 minutes to be exact- https://goo.gl/maps/UQ9ppLjvkUJ2

    I'm fat and managed to walk from the corner of Elizabeth and Collins to the track last year, so this will be easy.

    I'm in the Piquet stand with my son. We usually go to qualifying only so this should be good.

    I was planning to go and have booked accommodation but nothing else and now circumstances might make the trip a bit tricky. Accommodation is one of those "cancel free up to the day before" deals so Im still making my mind up.

    Would love to go but as far as actually watching the race goes, Id probably be better off watching from home.

    Nopics bought Fangio Premium to get the shade. I reckon the Fangio are probably good for keeping track of what is happening in the race and would be pretty cool watching the pits tops. Otherwise I reckon the Piquet or Brabham three champions looks good.

    None of those 3 champions tickets are available anymore. If you want a 4 day pass, you're stuck with the one stand. I found this out Sunday night while booking. I ended up in the Clark stand, would rather see some corners than be on the straight.

    The Fangio Three Champions grandstand tickets appear to still be available:

    http://www.grandprix.com.au/tickets/...ry=grandstand;

    I didn't click through to completion though.

    The Clark doesn't look to be in such a bad spot but the pricing seems to indicate it isn't but maybe people assume it isn't so it has been priced as such.
