    Postie Adventure bike.

So one of my loves in life is to take inappropriate machinery camping. Although to be fair I think Postie bikes are pretty underrated for their all around utilityness.
After looking around for a few long hours I stubbled upon this little gem. Its a 2009 CT110 but unlike the normal Postie version this is the Ag model that was sold to the public with a 2 speed transfer case. Unfortunately you canít use it to split gears like you could with a Mitsubishi Colt to do extra pointless gear changes.
You have to be stopped to swap from high to low range. And low range it proper low range. A couple of mates and I have them so we did a 5 hour bush ride last Saturday night while drinking beer at regular stops laughing our arses off. Anyway I swapped into low range for some climbs and was walking up in 3rd (4 speed box) to their 1st gear. But I digress.

The reason I have it is to go camping. The point is whilst we could load them up into a ute and drive them into the Barrington mountains around 140klms from my place. We are going to ride them to the mountains with only what we can carry. Vmax without any weight is about 85kph. With this in mind we are planning to take every back road and bike path to get there.

Anyway the first trip planned is on the Australia day long weekend up to Lady Wells in the Barringtons. One of us will carry the beer the other the food.Other than that is pack extra light and swags. We plan to leave early Thursday morning return saturday arvo after sitting in the river drinking and doing a little fly fishing.
We both have the full kit of Aust post yellow saddle bags and the obligatory milk crate on the rack. Because mine is the Ag bike I also have a front rack that as it happens fits a 6 pack esky even better than it would a Kelpie. Very handy on short rides.

Mock up with swag back rest.

We are still working out the details of what to pack etc but Iíll keep the thread updated as I sort out the rig and post some pics of the trip.

This is good and a highly appropriate way to piss around on the Australia Day long weekend.

I feel like it would be interesting to know what a postie could tow in low range first gearÖ a car? A coaster bus?

Spent some time fitting postie rack and bags this morning. After that was done I fucked around changing the 4ply road tyres over to 6ply dirt tyres with heavy duty tubes. Whilst I was there I chucked some new nyloc nuts on things fitted a new sealed 6vlt battery and gave shit a hit of thread locker just in case and gave it a service.

Back rest/Swag and bags. Pretty much final rig set up for the trip.

Low capacity, lightweight trail bikes are just the best thing ever. Using the wrong vehicle for the job is strangely entertaining.

Low range in the AG bikes. Didn't know that. I like your dedication to beer on Australia Day but how do you keep it cold? And I prefer HDT.
Logical debate beats name calling any day. My Badges Of Honour so far in PF: Racist, Bigot, Islamaphobe, Numpty, Moron, Far Right Wing Nationalist, Far Fight Wing Fascist, "raving fucking lunatic", "dumb" & climate "denier". AND they are just SOME of the pathetic tags that I've been labelled by SOME here. HINT: Those labels are signs that the accusers have lost to logical debate.

Dry ice and normal ice in an esky works wonders for cold beer.

    Jerry can rack sorted.

I also made a bottle opener.

This is obviously assuming all your AUX outputs are doing something. Ie idle control, and the other does water spray, and the other updates your Instagram automatically etc.
