    Track Days

Anyone doing bike track days here?

Finally cracked 2mins around the SMSP GP track yesterday on the RSV4.

I'm pretty slack lately, but I try to go once or twice a year. Last one was last April, and I had lost a lot of confidence after a near-stack. Keen on a PF track day!

Only with the car. I don't think my cruiser would do too well at the track. Plus I like having all my limbs attached

Try to do a couple a year here, but we have issues currently as bikes have been banned at barbagallo after a fatality. Doesn't leave many options. have just shipped bike to melbs to do a "track day" around tassie for a week

Keen to but not yet. Need time and at least some leather pants to zip to my Berik jacket or a one piece. Lakeside is closest which sounds pretty hairy on a bike but better than travelling 90mins + to the big paperclip that is QR!

Not currently owning a bike is putting a real dampener on my track riding unfortunately. Since moving to Sydney I don't have a garage to store such things.

Would like to ride SMSP, seems to have some similarities to my favourite track- PI.

SMSP on the RSV4, still lots of time to pull out of the lap.

    I'm still shitting myself.

Looking good Andy, that Ape certainly has some legs on the straights.

Seems like a challenging track on a super bike. Open and flowing (which is what you want) but some treacherous elevation and camber changes.

    What tyres are you using?

Yeah, amazing what these bikes do stock. Been told I really need to lose a gear or two - and get an exhaust.

You know you're alive on a bike at SMSP, that's for sure. The run through turn 1 is on it, and some of the corners are faster than they are comfortable!

    Tyres are Rosso Corsa's.

Just had all the stars align for Phillip Island at the end of April too - can't wait!

Maybe do a CSS or similar and spend the rest of your money on tyres and suspension setup rather than an exhaust unless you have your heart set on it. A CBR250 is capable of a sub 2 min on the GP track there with the right rider on it.

    Cool.

I think anything going under 2mins at the Creek is fucking quick. I'm certainly not pro.

    Done the motoDNA stage 1.

Need exhaust because RSV4. But it can wait.

On suspension I've had setup at the track, but need stiffer front springs. I'm 105kg. Pretty happy with where it's at now to be honest.

I was checking out your corner speeds compared with the zx10. Most corners you are down 20-30kmh in comparison. I am running Diablo Rosso Corsa's as well. 1:51's most of the day.

Let me know when you heading out next. Keen to tag along.

    Awesome.

I think it's called be scared of binning it for me!

Looks like 22nd is the next time out Biscan, you'll fit in well too. One of the blokes with us (track and road rides) is aboard a '16 Zx10r.

I watched your video too. Great watch.

I am rebuilding my headlight assembly after the mounts snapped and setting up the newly installed bazzaz atm. Should be ready in a month or so.

The V4s sound amazing with a pipe on them. I'm not sure who's the go to suspension guy around sydney but if you get it all sorted you won't regret it, safer, faster and will save you money. EC is an amazing track, i've only done 2 days there because I was a QLDer I spent most of my time at Lakeside, QR and racing at Morgan Park.

Just because your bike isn't ready, doesn't mean you have to hurt my feelings.

Found this video of an RSV4 that is seriously moving around SMSP. The corner speeds and angles are insane

Have done a few track days, still much to learn. Was doing them on my road bike but ended up buying a bike from the auctions as a trackday bike.
