    VDO Tacho Mod from 4 to 8 cylinder

    Can it be done?? I have the factory tacho in the gem , and want it modded to suit the V8.

    Can supply pics if needed.

    Can't see why not.

    Had lc gtr (vdo brand) recalibrated from original 6cyl points to suit hei ignition on holden v8 years ago.

    Only thing is reacted slower than autometer & needle prefers 500pm increments as in 750-850rpm idle looks more like 1k.`
    an easy fix is get a mate to drive in front of you at 60 then 80 then 100 and mark in on your speedo with some liquid paper.

    Yep, sounds about right.

    Your alternative is to knock up some kind of divider circuit so that it halves the number of spark events it sees.
