    LS1 Statesman, head/cam combo, 2800 stall etc $3300

Some of you may have seen this in the other thread, I'll keep this one as short as possible. Has hail damage on bonnet/roof/boot. 152,000km's. Aircon is cold, heater is hot. No reg but can be registered in Vic even with the hail damage, doesn't need VIV or anything because its 15yo.

    Hand ported heads
    1.7 ultralite YT RR's
    LS7 lifters
    0.40" cometic gaskets
    ARP Head bolts
    Comp 232/234/112
    921 Double valve springs
    Viton valve seals
    Chrome Moly Pushrods
    25% underdrive balancer
    80MM BBK throttle body
    Marranos Alloy OTR
Pacemaker extractors, twin 3" to single 4" exhaust. Very subdued, deep rumble sounding exhaust, not overly obnoxious.

Also has a 2800 convertor, auto shifts firm and LSD with 3.46 diff gears

    Cheers, Ben

I could just put the drive line in my car again.

    Simsy would be sad.

Before all the things were fixed which I would say none of us knew about the thing poked along pretty fucking well. Sound pretty decent to.

From memory it had a HD haymen reece tow kit on it to!

Yeah, just to clarify, I will say I DON'T think Jim sold me a lemon or anything, he mentioned a couple of the little things, and although it did have a tiny bit of lifter noise, he wasn't to know that the heads would have to come off and put a new set in.

Didnt even know about the tow bar myself!

Yeah I had no fucking idea otherwise I would have either fixed it myself or pulled the motor for other projects.

It was damn stout with all the apparent problems so it must absolutely hoot now!

    What did I miss?

Old mate who did all the work to it had it at the exhaust shop a few times to get the exhaust right, he use to make regular trips from Canberra to Sydney and back for work and didn't want any drone noise.
When I had it I replaced the radiator (small crack with a slow leak so it never overheated) and Cam angle Sensor.
Plus it got a new windscreen after it got hammered by hail.

Was fun to drive, if it didn't get written off after the hail storm I would have kept it and done it up.

There is a fair bit of hail damage. I've honestly tried to take photos of the damage specifically on two different phones and an actual camera but it just doesnt show in the photos. That's kind of how the car presents though, it looks reasonable from a few meters away. If you have any old photos that show it Jim, feel free to throw them up.

At the end of the day, the hail damage realistically doesn't matter. I'm looking for a daily that's not going to see the inside of a garage. Should be old enough to not be on a written off vehicle register, so just rwc and rego?

Car now has a line locker fitted. Thorough durability testing has confirmed the driveline is in good health. 0% tread left on rear tyres. Price reduced to $3k to allow for purchase of new tyres.

Looking at the rules, hail damage in one of the categories listed for re-registering a car after being written off, but it also says you must have owned the car for 28 days before it was damaged, which doesnt seem logical.

So basically, I have no idea.

Nothing seems to faze the RMS full of swedes
an easy fix is get a mate to drive in front of you at 60 then 80 then 100 and mark in on your speedo with some liquid paper.

Yeah, was asking on behalf of a mate who has a thing for these fat land whales. I figured he'd love it (mostly for the running gear) but turns out he currently has 4 of them and no room for another. It's a bargain at that price that's for sure...

Now has 20" rims with brand new tyres on the front and a generous supply of belt marks on rear quarters.
