    bleeding calipers with multiple nipples

    hey pfers

    ive got volvo 4 piston calipers on my mk2 corty now they have 3 nipples on each caliper.

    would anyone know if there is a right order to bleed each nipple i keep ending up with the pedal going to the floor. car has new master.

    There is a sequence to these I forgot it I have not seen one in 9 years. I would just pump fluid through each nippple until there is some flow so get some clear hose going into a 2l coke bottle open one nipple at a time and pump the pedal until fluid flows out. Then you can start the bleeding of all the air which I forget what that order is.

    Also it makes life easy if you bench bleed the master.

    On most dual nipple calipers they have the transfer passage at the bottom and you fill the first side then the second side. I't all depends on where air can get trapped not the lowest or highest.

    But on say a dual nipple I would beed the far side first do the inner side then back to the far side to ensure no air is left.

    I'd bled them in a sequence from the start of the fluid path to the last point.

    This is the 240 sequence assuming you still have the same triangle split setup.

    1. Drivers side rear nipple
    2. Drivers side front upper nipple
    3. Passenger side front upper nipple
    4. Passenger side rear nipple
    5. Passenger side front outer lower nipple
    6. Passenger side front inner nipple
    7. Drivers side outer lower nipple
    8. Drivers side front inner nipple

    They're triple nipple because they're dual inlet (2 separate circuits, inlet only operates the lower pair of pistons). If you're feeding them via a T-piece, I'd bleed upper, outer, inner, and not bother swapping side to side like in the original 240 procedure. The side bleeders are for the lower pair of pistons only.
    While looking for pics to illustrate, I found this really nice double banjo inlet for them:


    Apparently they're from some dude called Breck Meyer.

    From memory, if you're keen and careful, you can drill them so that you only really need to bleed the top bleeder after the initial bleed up.

    no triangle split system.

    its on a cortina. with duel circuit master .1 rear bleed nipple and 6 on the front.

    I would go with egads as I know with brembos on evos its not the normal bleed system.
    I found the way on google I would sugest going there to confirm.
    I told them I once raced cars (total lie ) pissed them right off I will think of something bigger.

    Single or dual inlet hoses ?
    Cause if you've gone to single without drilling the calipers internally it will never work (unless you use those blocks above)

    I drilled in between the two inlet ports. Still was a cunt to bleed. Real shit pedal. Basically on the floor. Pulled them off with the hoses still attached. Moved the around a bit at differnt angles. Lots of air came out. Pedal is mint.

    Drilling between the inlet ports means you've still got to use all the bleeders - you need to drill from the side bleeders into the other piston (outside bleeder at a minimum). It'll still suck to bleed up from completely dry though.

    I still used all the bleeders. They are just a cunt of a caliper to bleed from dry.

    Those rubber bits will soften and the hose end will pull out when they get hot
