Has been consistently raining on-off here in Phuket all week and proper tropics rain, so thereís a good chance of a partially (properly) wet race as the KL weather has been matching the forecasts Iím been getting here - temperatures are pretty stable but humidity is obviously right up there.

Do it TJ - surely AirAsia has some deal kicking on and just grab a night or two for cheap. You know the drill.

We will write you a note:

    Dear TJs Boss,
Please give him Monday off so he can fly back from a Coke and hooker fuelled weekend at the F1.
He can bring you back some headphones.

    Yours

Thanks mate, we will give it a try, if its no good we will grab tickets for somewhere else, they're cheap enough.

I just got 600RM ($200 AUS) changed over so I got something on me when I land. A mate over in KL is getting a better rate over there then I could get here (660RM for $200AUS) so I will just get cash from the currency place near our hotel everyday.

If you have a citibank account and debit card just use ATM's, the transactions are free and the rate isn't too bad.

In Indonesia, I just use my ANZ debit card to get out a couple of hundred once a week or so from an ATM and the rate is pretty good and it costs me an extra $5 a hit with all the bullshit fees.

For me the convenience is worth the very slight difference in rate I would get fucking with cash for when I first arrive and then for longer term as I am here for six months this trip.

And pissed I will miss the GP as I will am doing road surveys in central and west Java for the next couple of weeks.

Air Asia flat bed is nice. Not completely flat but flat enough for $480.

No dramas carrying cash in my experience but remember I appear to be a massive giant to most locals so get left alone.

I just (Citi Debit) hit up cash from ATM at the airport - about 500RM covers a travel card recharge for the trains a drink or two and leaves extra

Awesome... I'm out tomorrow night, get in Friday morning at silly o'clock, check in and then go pickup a new phone because mine died yesterday lol. Will have a beverage or three over the course of the weekend I'm sure.

Hope new management works out how streaming works and we can subscribe to a race or a season.

I'd happily pay for a live HQ stream. I just don't want all the other bullshit from the local pay tv provider.

But being the way that it is a single race will probably end up costing more than a months basic sub plus sports.

Moto GP does that, so I'm sure F1 can work it out somehow.

Not just the sound, look at how much more interesting the rules were. Re-fueling, multiple tyre manufacturers, spare cars (!).

So go to FP1 then wait around for FP2 or just skip the morning session and go in the afternoon? Choices.
