    On the topic of videos, how hard would be it be to do one up on how you fab that manifold? I'd love to have a crack at something like that on one of the VG30 engines I have but given I've never done anything like it knowing where to start and how each step progresses would be mint. I may be asking the impossible or newb fab basics but I'd enjoy the shit out of watching it come together complete with explanations of how to measure, where to cut, dumb mistakes to avoid etc.

    Yea kelford ground up my stock cams. Took them a few months, bit of a head scratcher apparently but they seem ok.

    Id like to say i welded these but i didnt. Cheers to graham at sms fab.
    Will be connecting up the power feeds to ecu etc this weekend and might even try to start this pig. Although im a bit scared because of the crank trigger. Im not sure which of the two to use. If the timing is 60 degrees advanced or retarded how much damage could that do? Should i get the dude with the silliscope out to map the ref/sync signals?

    I wouldn't care about timing being out at cranking rpm / airflow. Others might though. You might luck out and not need old mate and his scope.

    Are you supporting the plenums from the underside so they aren't cantilevered? What thickness did you make the plenum out of? I've heard of large fabricated plenums ballooning under boost and eventually fatigue cracking the welds.

    Edit: stick target boost into the plenum with your air compressor and check deflection in the plenum mid span with a dial gauge. any more than a couple mm deflection and you may need to do something about it #armchairexpert

    Yea. Yea there is a support underneath. The flat plate is 3mm and the 4 inch bends are 2mm. Graham said at boost levels under 30 psi it should be alright. He welded it inside and out as well. Considering its supposedly going to make 800 at 14 psi, i think other things cracking is more of a concern 🤓

    Crank trigger wrong will do no harm. To get it ballpark so it will start just pull the injector plugs or something to stop it firing, then key it over on the starter motor with a timing light on it.

    Yer chaps. Wasnt really expecting too much but the ecu is pretty amazing and after dialling in the crank setup she was all on. Running at 1500 rpm with no exhaust it just sounded like a beast. Friend had hand over mic duh. Will get a better one once i get more coolant into it and tickle the tune a bit, like be bothered hooking up all the vacuum lines
