    Anyone used the coil signal to get the rpm signal for boost controller? It needs to switch between 0 and 3.5-12v

    Turbo seal totally shit itself today. So yanked it out, totally dripping with oil. When we welded the flapper the other day I noticed a tiny bit of wheel damage. I reckon it was enough to put it out of balance and flog the seal.

    Exhaust port was bone dry thank fuck

    At the time everyone inc turbo guy said run it. It had been like that for a month to that point and at that stage showed no sign of issues.

    Running it at 21-22 psi due to leaky guage probably pushed it over the edge

    My original turbo is still at turbo logic. I forgot to ring him today to chase it up. Turbine wheel is mint just noisy bearings. Was gonna get it rebuilt with larger billet comp wheel like the one I fitted already. I can chase up a rebuild price and let u know what dollars if ur keen.

    So 19psi tuner bloke was more or less playing with 25-26psi on that fateful first pull or is gauge install a more recent thing?

    Bearings look fine. He reckons good chance the little bit of damage on exhaust wheel probably did kill the rear seal. Me being a tightarse, he said he will try to balance it with that exhaust wheel.

    When I put the turbo back I'm going to tidy up the hotside piping. Probably going to weld a 2-2.5" 90deg elbow on turbo, rotate the comp cover, extend the alloy sections, remove the bov, weld up holes in intake pipe etc

    Your lucky you didnt burn the motor teeing into the map line which is a huge no-no, you got away with it once, put a new wheel on it and dont gamble twice.
    The wheel wont be that expensive, your already paying for the seal and balance not to mention pulling it off/putting it on etc

    He can weld a 90deg bend on for $80 which I thought is reasonable

    There is a problem, that wheel is fucked beyond use. Itíll have stress fractures and all sorts of heat stress points that make it a ticking timebomb. 50g spinning at 100,000rpm is flywheel energy and you wouldnt fuck with one of those eh.

    I lost my shit yday, after 4 weeks from when i ordered the 2 step and over a week since I asked for a refund. The idiots I bought 2 step from still hadn't returned my money and didn't even return my call. So put bad feedback on Facebook, dude replied in the middle of the night. Then called first thing this morning offering refund and free unit. Lol. Saying I was the first person to slip thru the cracks, blah blah blah. People wonder why we go to summit or jegs

    I tried getting a wheel that looked a bit worse that that balanced up but they said no joy. If it was me I would go another wheel purely for one less thing to worry about but itís ur call. If it goes whats the worse that can happen. Shouldnít wreck a motor but put it out of action for a bit. I had 2 rebuilt rebuilt one with a kinugawa turbine wheeland one with a used Garrett wheel and I actually recently crossed paths with the guy who bought that one of them off me some 10 years ago and when asked him about it he said it was still running fine. I donít remember which one he bought tho. They did say the kinugawa wheel took less to balance up good tho.
