The important thing is, do you enjoy the car?

That's good to hear, i find ours has a little mooish noose down low but once on boost it sounds sweet. It's got xforce 3.5" exhaust and I think it does the job well. Not drony and following behind the car with windows down it's almost silent.

I only had it for 15 mins and went to fill up on 98. Just weird experience, feels like a boosted Silvia with 3" straight thru exhaust and fart can. New suspension is pretty stiff and feed the power, then wooosh, then off gas, massive shhhhhhjh. Surprisingly not load or droney

Few little niggles to sort but seems pretty fun

Picked up car tonight after work. Got to take it for a good drive. Just spins tyres at 80 or 100kmh. Dropped past my mate with 9.3s vk, he loved driving it. Also my alu welding buddy loved it as well

Really shows you dyno figures mean jack shit

Need to sort a few niggles and then go to heathcote or calder

Sounds like it's growing on you.
an easy fix is get a mate to drive in front of you at 60 then 80 then 100 and mark in on your speedo with some liquid paper.

Good stuff, you've worked hard on this I'm glad you're happy with it. No need for the bigger exhaust then??? Even though it puts out less power the smaller 3576 turbo from the FG is better as it just has instant boost and in a car as light as yours may be even better than what you have in it now.

It's got a upgraded 61mm GTX wheel and I kept the 3" exhaust. Little delay on spool, but not too fussed.

In time I will get mate to do 3.5" exhaust.

Few little things still to fix as always

Cut out the bump stops in the rear to stop the annoying thuds. Finished off clearancing the drivers rear guard on inner lip. Now plenty of room even if panhard moves over

Put a beadlock wheel on to see how it looked. Pretty cool and a bit of dish to boot

Sussed out the power steering fluid leak. The male fitting of the high pressure line is borked. So just ebayed a new one. Also noticed the drivers side engine mount has shit itself and the engine dropped down and forward. Going to send the crs ones back and put in my tuffmounts for vl

Seems engine puked a bit of water at some stage, think going to move rad cap to top of thermostat housing

That engine mount would have been cooked by the turbo/manifold. I'd be looking for some heat protection for the new one.
    Mmmmmmmmm beer.

Doubtful, but I have some shielding I can put on. Factory does have some

Finally got around to working on this. Yanked the radiator and thermostat housing, then took them to my mates place who is a much better alloy welder than me. Got back and spaced the centre bearing up, getting the angle pretty spot on now.

Then I took out the tierods and shortened one side and lengthened the other. Recentred the steering wheel and get 1.5 turns on the right and 1.75 turns to the left. As best as I can do it. So just need to get an alignment

Also removed the leaking high pressure line for the powersteering

Jimmyg was on the money. Turbo toasted the drivers mount. Fucked around for what felt like a lifetime swapping them out. Half way thru had to take the bonnet off to lift the engine higher. Although now it sits back 0.75" and I have to do redo trans cross member. I did wrap the drivers mount with heat shielding, fingers crossed that does the trick

If heat shielding doesnt work try a ram air duct, just to stop it roasting in still, hot air.

Geez that Ford engine looks more at home in the engine bay than the ecomoo ever did.

Fantastic work in an unbelievable short amount of time!

    Cheers. Pretty much 3 months

Made new trans mount and fit first time. Yay. Put everything back together and bonnet back on. Still waiting for new high pressure line and my mate to relocate rad cap.

Then front end alignment and aircon

Swapped out the high pressure powersteering line, old one had a cut in the line.

Mate finished welding the rad cap on thermostat housing and patched the rad. That's it tested on his motor

Booked mobile aircon guy for wed
