Diff and tailshaft done. tailshaft copped new front uni, yoke and centre bearing. Diff got new bearings and pinion had to be machined to fit the torque lock.

I think i have the same helmet as you, you will need good natural light for it to work properly with the tig, doesn't handle night well at all.

    Love the build.

Be very careful with those helmets if you are doing any high frequency AC Tig work, especially at low amperage's. They flicker and drop out frequently.

I recently replaced mine with a cig weld prolite, which has 4 sensors instead of 2 and is good down to 5amps on AC. Streets ahead of the old unit.

The old one is great for mig/stick etc though.

    Means well but is skittled

$11k as I redid all the suspension

Today fitted up the tailshaft and then modified the height of trans mount so tailshaft angle wasn't too bad. Then welded up the catback as I switched it from passenger to drivers side cat location. Also cut a wedge out of the section above the diff so it tucked up nice. Looks a bit shit, but least there were no holes. Had a practice on aluminium for a while, but just went to shit when I tried cooler piping. So going to drop of drivers side cooler piping and rad to mate to weld.

Had bit more play of the accelerator pedal. Chopped the plastic back heaps to the smallest possible. The. Took out a little bracket on firewall. Seems to tuck up nice. Just need to bolt it in

the weld looks ok. as long as air doesn't escape, it's doing its job.

Few fiddly jobs today. Fitted the turbosmart 14psi actuator, set 2mm of preload and checked if it worked. Also massaged the rail to move the rack over for better dump pipe clearance. Relocated a few lines in the process. Got another btr 4 speed to work out the hole position for the Speedo gear conversion, then did it to my box. Dropped off radiator to be modified for falcon outlets and also one cooler pipe to be welded

Trimmed the sump a tad for bit more clearance against rack as well and cut a bit off alternator for turbo hotside outlet

Cut the rack mounts and moved them over 1.5". Fired up the welder and welded them in. Fits pretty nice, wound the tie rod in to get part of the lock I lost. Put the engine in and dump was close to fitting, so gave it a little tap and boom. It's in. Tackle the bottom half and cat tomorrow

Spent a few hours on this tonight and it really didn't look like I did anything. Played with the top part of the dump for a while as the bolt end of the intermediate shaft would hit as you turned. Ended up cutting a wedge out and rewelding it. Then played with the bottom section and trying to keep it high as possible. Can't weld the two halves together till I get the cat back from being opening up at one end to 3.5

Then I jigged the fbw for the best spot then bolted it to the firewall

I was really expecting a lot more use of a large hammer in this build. Heat shield back on. "It's factory built officer. Promise."

No pieces of rockers to find each week to.

    Cheers guys

Jimmy surprisingly it fits pretty well. There are bits of tapping and a little cutting here and there but overall not bad. Yeah, with factory heat shield it will be factory looking, also why i got that plenum.

Still undecided whether to fill ford logo with bog or paint the red to wrinkle black. The red is sorta growing on me

Threw rad in this afternoon. Cut the charcoal canister hanger off for more room on drivers side. Used a mix n match of Barra and ecotec rad hoses. The el twin fans I got off hoges are 10mm too wide so I am waiting for some Mondeo fans in the post

Looks like I'm kissed on the dick with the exhaust. If I rotate the dump into the right position the cat section is perfectly straight to the cat back. Runs on a angle past the gearbox to to catback flange just at the centre bearing. That's tomorrows job

Also got a spare set of vice grips, so I can cut and modify my old shitty ones to bead roller for cooler piping
