I'm waiting on a couple of quotes, will bounce them off you guys when I get them. Cheers.

I got an initial quote and the drawing costs are going to be about $500 for the pair which is more than I was expecting, plus the costs of the finished items per piece.

    So I'm open to suggestions!

fark that, nothing youve posted looks like more then a few minutes drawing time, but I could be missing something. We dont even charge for it 90% of the time.

^^ it's these kind of charges/costs that are pretty much stopping any grassroots or cottage industry things from starting up in the country.

You can bet that even if Jack fronted with a DXF they'd still charge $500 to screw up the dimensions then $500 to redraw it.

When "e-machineshop" is cheaper per unit including delivery you know something's messed up.

What sort of qnty are you looking at Jack ?

Whilst I cannot sort you out as I dont have the material and both my water jet and laser are offline at the moment but shit like this is cheap here, maybe I could sort that for you.

Put up the dimensions and I'll re-draw what I have and flick it out for a qoute if you want, assuming you want more than 1 that is.

Laser cutting is the go for your application. Much cheaper.

http://www.conceptfasteners.com.au/s...self-clinching <<use these fasteners. Can get them perfectly flat on the back side. Used a lot for electrical enclosures etc.

Not sure about down south, but in Brisbane I use GCI group for this kind of thing. They will laser cut, put all the fasteners in, as well as CNC fold the whole thing up for you, and even powder coat it if you want extra wow.

If you still need these done, shoot me a PM. Helps if you have a dxf, otherwise if you have a flat sample you can scan them.

I'm always keen for a good pimping...this sort of stuff is pretty easy for me to look after, glad to help people with small volumes and fiddly jobs that the larger shops freak out about.
in the interests of full disclosure, I don't actually have a laser cutter, but I get stuff cut at a competitive price after doing all the design/ drafting.

I think for the next batch maybe we should cut out some big speed holes in them, these things are heavy in steel LOL
