    Tweeter let the smoke out

Slowly piecing together my new stereo and today it was install front door components.

Woofer and crossover fitted up without issue and woofer works but when I connected the tweeter it initially worked but then after about a minute started pumping smoke out and is now dead.

Any idea's as to why, have stopped the install as these alpine components were not cheap and I do not want a repeat on the other 3 doors.

mis-wired the crossover? had the woofer and tweeter swapped around on the crossover. sending bass to the tweeter will kill it.

    one-off faulty part.
