    What car v.eleventy

So lets say you had maybe 500/600k to spend. What car would you get?
    458
    Gt3rs
    488
    675
    Huracan
    Or an earlier aventador

Keen to hear kevs thoughts on 488 vs gt3rs.

Leaving out practicality and shit (i dont think that comes into the equation with any of these)

Or what else in that bracket/league would be something to look at

    No Gallardo?

Not even a GT3-spec racing one?

Ive never driven a stock Gallardo but Im pretty fucking happy with mine and get withdrawals after about 5 days. Someone asked me the other day what Id sell it to move onto and for the first time in a very long time I struggled to answer the question. Id probably only sell it to buy a Superlegopener.

For what its worth Im sure its the same for the other cars on your list so it comes to what you want more. For me the mentalness of the Lambo still very much shines though in the Gallardo. Sure it might be seen as tame next to a mid 80s Lambo but when your in it the soul is still very much there.

My mate with the 675/f12 and murci said if you get a 911 itll be fun but youll always wonder 'what if i went for a ferrari or a lambo' lol

Ive not been in the new ones but i read the new amg gt's arent as flash. So thats probably out. 458s seem to be going well enough that the ones for sale have 50+k km on them.

I wonder how much CTS actually want for the xj220 hahaha.

As far as 'want' goes i think itd be between a 458/ aventador or huracan probably more in the price range.

Maybe the gt3rs because it's not only a great car but you won't lose fuck tonnes in depreciation. But if you've got that much money to spend on cars, probably doesn't matter anyway, so something v12 Ferrari.

They have a mil on it, I would be interested how firm that is though.
Personally I'd be looking at the classics like Countachs, 512, 330GT, Testarossa, Falcon GT and Monaro GTS.

    F12

Or a 550 Maranello (manual) and F355 (this would be my pick and with prices on the rise for both cars you'd probably get your money back...550s are hugely reliable, 355s less so, but I can see prices for manuals going spastic so it'd probably offset maintenance)

    Or a Toyota Paseo

Imported manual 355's can still be had for non crazy money but yeah they have a certain reputation. I'd also look at limited build 360's. More reliable and starting to rise in value.

Pretty much every single thing (except the Ultima - lol) mentioned in this thread is up there in the "Unobtanium" cloud for me ... I have no idea of their value, and no idea of their relative merits, I just want them all ...

Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

360CS prices went ape shit a while back. $750k+. EDIT: actually, they are doable at around $600k for a UK import

458 Speciale? The last of the manic, stripped out N/A V8 Ferraris. EDIT: nope, $800k+

    EDIT2: F430 Scuderia?

    Yep.

Pretty much anything limited build is going to go up rather than down and hence my comment around Superlegopener.

USD$500k and 3 year wait. My mate has one on order and will be the first Australian customer apparently. He went to the factory and said they're amazing in person. However, I'm yet to be convinced its not a fad. But if he loses a few $100k it won't impact him lol. #whitepeopleproblems

Personally, I'd have 10x 50k options. But you already have something like that Paul!

They're $600,000 US starting point or something.

    I'd buy something old.

Single clutch only. I'd typically prefer a manual but the paddles would suit the character of the car IMO

I've driven an F430, I can't actually imagine what the Scud would be like with more power, noise and lightness

Ok so no real old cars because as cool as they are, they're really not that quick (compared to todays stuff) or nice to drive.
