    Lightyears Lightning hatch.

This car was chosen after many hours online comparing cars and trying to see what the best options are.

It's an Audi S3 2015 model. It goes ok. The best part so far was when I showed a video on YouTube to a friend with an M135i. It's an S3 vs M135i drag race. He can't believe the Audi kills his car. His car is already booked in for a tune.

0-100 times are around 5.0 seconds flat. Some reporters have timed it under 5.0. This car will be for nopics, but she walks to work most days. That means I will need to drive it to keep the battery charged 😈

I will update after we get the car. Looking forward to taking it for a proper drive. So far nopics is not aware that it is anything other than a nicer car than a regular Mazda. In the test drive I kept the right foot well away from the firewall. It's got multiple setting for driving, dampening, etc, I will make sure it stays in economy mode most of the time. And suspension on comfort. She doesn't like fast cars...

I have sometimes thought of selling all my cars and getting a nice audi/vw hatch. But then my inner bogan comes out

Never loose that inner bogan. Your car would have to hook up pretty hard to beat this thing off the line. With a tune these things are real quick.

lol, no. It's way too fast for what she needs now. If I didn't have 50 other cars that need money spent on them I might think about it. Maybe in a couple of years.

I might club reg the NA6 and leave it at Phillip island. Then there will be some room for the Audi in the garage.

I was YouTube-ing the S3 and found a video on the RS3 vs A45. The RS3 hammers, and the A45 had no chance. I would have thought it would be close.

I was reading on the Ozaudi forum that a guy did a 12.7 second 1/4 with no mods. And that is the 206kw version, mine is the 210kw version. These cars must be insane with a full tune, exhaust, intake. I have been out of town, so have not organised the paperwork for the car yet.

We picked the car up this arvo. I kicked an MX5 out of the garage so this can park inside. We have 11 cars here at the moment. So it's getting tight. Now I need to find an excuse to take it for a drive. Might have to wait for the weekend. :/

I did question why Narelle's name was on there seeing as it's gone into my name. He figured I wasn't into the flowers and bows maybe. It's still nicely tucked away in the garage waiting for some sunny weather. I don't want it to get dirty, it's so nice and clean.

I took it out for a drive to Bayswater, so a good 45 minute drive each way. I did mess up the launch control a few times, but worked it out in the end. It doesn't launch as hard as I was expecting, or even feel that fast. Maybe because it's missing the V8 roar that the VF wagon has. It's definitely not slow, but I I'll have to line it up against someone else to see how quick it is. You just don't get much of a sense of speed. But the speedo needle moves quick. With traffic, there is hardly a time that you can take advantage of having a faster car. 90% of the time is following the traffic that drive side by side as slow as they can go.
And nopics seems to like it too, so that's good. She doesn't even drive the Mazda anymore.

A mate of mine has one of these, it's a real Jekyll n Hyde car, comfy as cruising around but brutal on the track.

Nice buy, looks like you picked the right car in the end

It's an Audi thing. Just had an S6 rental for a couple of weeks - for a 400hp+ twin turbo V8 it was pretty damn boring!

They're a bit too capable in most situations to be fun.

The friend with the M135i fell for the Audi. But he decided to go one better, and now has a 2016 RS3. That is an amazing car, it's like ours, but on steroids. He loves buying bits and customising his cars, and without too much pressure he talked me into buying a few little bits.
I have ordered Quattro stickers to go on the lower rear doors, Quattro badge for the grille, carbon fibre paddle shifter extenders and a complete black RS3 replica grille.
I would like to get some wheels for it one day as well. But for now I have to wait for this lot to turn up. Bit pissed the Aussie dollar dropped by 4 cents.

Edit- I forgot to mention we still have not put fuel in this thing. It's on the same tank of fuel we bought it with. It's been to Phillip Island, the city a few times, driving to clients, etc. Makes my V8 seem stupid when you have more performance, and use half the fuel or less.

Very nice, I've had mine (Black 2016 sedan) for about 15 months now and I still really like it. I don't have as many opportunities for recreational driving as I'd like, but it is an excellent commuter, and was great on the highway for a pretty decent roadtrip last month.

The one downside is that the boot is slightly too small, but I can't find anything to replace it with that would be as fun for the same kinda money while solving the storage issue (in this country anyway)... With my mother in law coming to live with us for a few months next year I don't think it'll hold up to 3 adults + baby + all associated baby crap (with our Toyota Prado rivaling stroller) so not sure what I'll do there...

Not sure if it's too much. The friend with the RS3 bought some red pinstripe to do some highlights, and gave me some to have a try. I put the red stripes on, and thought it might look better with black outs. So I plasti dipped the black bits. Only took about half an hour all up with a heat gun being used between coats. Will look better when the black RS3 grille turns up,

And the Quttro stickers that turned up are silver. Not dark silver like I ordered. Try spot the sticker on the tailgate.

I removed the red stripe on the front, looks much better. Also, it keeps saying *Turn off engine immediately- low coolant level*
If I let the air out of the expansion tank, the light will go off for a while. It i don't let the air out, the warning stays. It's going in to get checked.

I reckon no red stripe, looks too busy and trying too hard. I like the silver sticker, nice and understated.

We took it in to Audi to have the car checked/fixed for the low coolant warning light. Seems to be ok now. Then a week later the low oil warning light comes on. Should have stuck with Mazda's. It doesn't cost anything to fix, but it is still a pain to have to drop off a car, get a lift home, then same to pick it up. Also, the friend with the RS3 had his in for a low oil warning as well last week.
All the bits I ordered have arrived, now to find time to put them on.. The grille is about 2.5hrs at least from what I have read.
Off to the states in the morning, so no or King on cars for a bit. But at least I can do some parts shopping.

Audi's are nice cars but fuck they are shit with stupid little things like that. Our A4 Quattro has just clicked over 20k and its been to the dealer more times than my 6 Atenza did in 70ks. They have already had the DSG gearbox out for leaks and it has had a timing cover leak fixed as well. It also randomly has stupid things like the doors won't unlock when touching the sensor.

The Audi drives and goes well but it does make me realise how good Mazda's are!

This thing has an alarm going off every other drive. Low water alarm continues, it says to turn off car immediately. Then low air in tyres came on, checked tyres, light is still on. Back to Audi again...

Annoying shit indeed.. Had a mate trade his Q7 in on a SQ5. Fast as fuck but sunroof wouldn't close after 2 weeks as well as few other electrical gremlins.
