Seeing though I can't race it for the next 6 weeks, I've ordered a torque power jz/th4oo bellhousing and waiting to hear back from dtm about an fti th400

Might see if I can get it down to Dale for a 25psi tune. Also want to get the fuel tank out and redo the fuel system

Also found out that Shift right dose 4L80/e as well now. might be a great option, its TH400 but with an extra gear. One seems to hold its guts in behind his 632BBC in his tonner that runs 9.1

Just got off the phone with dtm, they recommend one less gear than a th400, not one more

    Not always

Sometimes that lower 1st gear can be a good thing with 3 speeds, especially in street cars where diff ratios are often compromises

Cause they are easier to build. Was just putting it out there as I know you are going to be doing a fair amount of street driving in the future ans through one more gear will open up options with gear changes in the rear

That's what I'd be going for. Fuck having a 1:1 top gear in a street car.

Glide is the perfect box for this car for the strip. If it was any heavier or had less power it wouldn't be, prob only a small percentage of cars fit into glide category, this one fits perfect.

Yep i know what you mean, street driving is always nicer with an od. Always hard to find a good balance between what you are willing to put up with on the street to have a better track car.

If I was just racing at the track, I'd go glide. I don't think a 2.5 litre six needs an overdrive with 3.5 gears but a 3 speed will be better on the street and easier on the cooling system and auto temp.

First thing on the agenda is to move all of this vital stuff from it's current vulnerable position

    This is the current plan

The mount houses two o44's (bit hard to see) but only has one in it at the moment

Took it for a drive to get the temp up and then let it idle in the 40 degree shed for 20 minutes. Occasionally brought it up with a small amount of stall to simulate stop/start traffic. Was just about to call it a day when the idle started surging like crazy, each time getting higher after about 20 seconds it was surging to 2500rpm, so I shut it off???? Now it won't restart (has fuel pressure and fuel)

    Work continues

I'm assuming fuel sloshes around in the cell like a normal tank
