Is it a custom thing? Normal cell with sumped pickup at the back and some baffles would be a simple solution

Would something like this be any use to you if you use a glide???

    http://www.campingworld.com/shopping...erdrive/20070d

260BC is using this apparently in his new track toy. It gives you an overdrive for each gear. Because he can't use more than than two pedals at once he reckons this is the go for track sprints.

Yeah it's custom, welding a box to the side of the cell sounds even easier. Drill a hole in the wall for return

fair enough, I know nothing about what would work best on a car like yours, I just appreciate the engineering in making it so fucken quick.

Shouldn't cost too much just to move the fuel pumps to the back.....

Is that tank held in with 4 bolts/screws?

If so I would be looking at a strap or two that go around it. I have had and seen cracks in the welds being mounted like you have it. Alot of street miles is what killed it with the bumpy roads.

Again just putting it out there for future reference with the planned street driving

Yeah, just dropped it off to Castle Hill Performance to get lizarded. He's going to add braces to those mounts and I'm going to add a U channel brace under the centre of the tank. Trying to use the same head sized bolt on all mounts to make it easier for roadside repairs. Also have changed the setup so the fuel pumps hang from their own mount rather than mounted to the tank

Also looking to run twin alternators to halve the load and being able to lose an alternator and keep going, research continues

Also spoke with mv autos and shift rite today about th400

wouldn't it be significantly less fucking around just to carry a spare alternator?

Maybe. I've got a power steering delete pulley on there now so I don't think it'd take too much to fit another alternator

I think the T400 isnt a great choice, just my opinion, Big heavy power sucking gearbox that has the same 1;1 top ratio as the glide which is where you will spend 80% of your driving anyway, convertor would easily be able to be sorted to make it drive-able, mayeb it's just me, but you seem to be doing a hell of a lot of work to make a proven reliable daily driven 8 sec car a reliable drivable 10 sec car lol

You mean proven reliable in that I had to wait for the a340 to be fixed so that I could buy it?

I would have been near a 9 on my second meet if the staff have let me

Why am I defending myself to you???

x eleventy. You're creating problems not solving them. Any half decent alternator with power your car without issues for years
Looking for 86 GSXR bits. PM me

Maybe, drag week heat is pretty hard on electrical systems

You'd be better off ducting cool air onto it if you were worried. Twin alternators seems like massive overkill which in my mind introduces more issues than it solves.

Granted drag week is warm, but no warmer than a qld summer.

Kind of biasedly agree with 350stato on glide vs th400 for reasons mentioned. Welcome to have a drive of mine if you're ever up this way.
