    Photobucket phix

I don't know how many people saw the posts originally, but a reminder that editing your old photobucket links to have "~original" after the .jpg makes them work.
Photobucket are still cunts, but it will make threads readable again.

I believe the Chrome plugin basically does the same thing, but only for the viewer. If anyone has seen a script for vBulletin that can do it to everything, or a script for scraping the images and hosting them on site (like LS tech did to their forum), they would probably be handy!

Holy shit. I'd been checking on and off for a firefox plugin. Looks like I'm user 111. Tested it and it works.
    Cheers Fondles.

A scraping/hosting script would still be the way to win before Photofucket figure out how to block it all or shut down.

Do we think photobucket will shit this down? Sorry I don't understand the politics behind why they are doing this.

So I want to start my build thread and have a lot of photos to upload. Those who understand the motives here- would you use photobucket or Imgur? Reckon photobucket will lock down this 'fix'?

I don't know if I would bet on PhotoBucket's changes reducing their bandwidth enough for them to be viable, given they apparently weren't before that change.
I wouldn't bet on them hanging around all that much longer.
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

I think Imgur is great, that's what I use for all my photos on this and other forums.

Ha I didn't even know this was possible. I can't really be fucked putting the build thread anywhere else so I'll just do that. I'll have a play around with it. Thanks

I put a few photos up on there a while back but it just looks like a mini thread of pics. Can I go back and edit that 'thread' to add more pics? I'm old and stupid and it's a different format to photobucket so I don't get it.

Looks better if you load them one at a time. Go to Imgur, upload, browse to your picture, then wait a bit while it uploads. Then click on the picture and select "Get share links"

Then select BCC Code (Forums), that copies a link onto your Clipboard, past that link in your post, and this is what it looks like:

1000% yes. The `~original` hack is going to cost them more in bandwidth than the free for all they had before once its use becomes widespread.

Fyi, that Chrome plugin is putting the author's Google analytics on every page you view. I had a look at the source on GitHub, pretty disappointing move on their part.
