I did this in winter on my FJ cam cover but its actually came out a bit too wrinkled with the heat gun.

Later on during a warm sunny day though, i painted the intake manifold outside in the sun and it came out perfect

I used to paint these a lot, if you let the cover sit in the sun to warm up before painting, then hit it with the heat gun it will be decent, make sure your coats are even, and defiantly wait the 5 mins between coats, the more you heat/dry it with the heat gun the tighter the wrinkle will be

Cleaned up the intake and it hit with a few coats and dried with heat gun. Ignore top corner still wet. Will let it sit in the sun tomorrow

Also snagged a 6x ls3 coils on a stainless holder and loom for $200. Very happy

Guy I bought the turbo from also had a xf TPS, so that's in the mail

Best way to set this shit it to blow the heat gun down the ports etc of manifold and heat it up till it's to hot to touch, it will take 2 days drying it in the sun, shit seems to form a skin that seems dry then if you touch it it'll move cause its not dry on item surface

    Holley dominator and Holley dash

Been driving this heaps the past couple months. Really love it. Even been getting up to 470kms out of tank. So nice with ice cold aircon and it just cruises along.

Today I sorted a couple niggles. Fixed interior and boot lights. Also sorted a small vac leak under the dash. Turns out two of the lines were loose, so now all the dash vents work.

Rwc guy mentioned rear drums were low and i knew they were rusty as fuck. So i bit the bullet and ordered some new drums and drum pads. Fitted them yday. What a cunt of a job. Good thing was that drum servo looked reasonable new under the dust. I sorta fucked up with the adjuster (not grabbing the heandbrake lever), so did it all twice. Adjusted them tight, bled the rears.

After a little bit of smoke on the drive to work, the pedal got firmer and firmer during the day. Fucking success. Lucky i didn't get the vs booster and master

Nice. Can't beat the clean & basic appearance of a standard-looking VL. The dirty thirty isn't a bad thing, but depending what you want a conversion isn't such a bad idea. You start to get into a lot of expense, particularly 're: oil pumps & cyl head work.

The bottom ends are pretty unburstable, a lot of misinformation out there from people running 15psi on stock fuel pumps with no intercooler and stock injectors then melting them. Make 450rwhp all day, any more and you'd be looking at a motor build (or conversion) for longevity. Certainly seen guys make 700+ through autos on stock wrecker bottom ends but those guys never tell you how long they last.

I reckon i might throw in the t400, 9" and do turbo conversion on stock motor on 10psi then get motor built. Well maybe do headstuds or something straight forward.

Motor fairly healthy, doesn't leak or use water or oil. Got 450 km out of a tank a couple times or round 400ish with stop start driving

You will piss in 550 - 600 rwhp in a stock donk and it will last, headstuds and a good cam and springs, espically with a holley dominator. But if i was you, get a built donk. I have done both and the forged motor is the way to go, spool rods and a set of je or cp pistons. And get the rotating assembley balanced.

Finally sorted the remote boot release. Fitted a vs boot solenoid as the early ones are hard to source. Made up a new pull mechanism bar aluminium filler rod. Then had to fix the wiring mess at the button end. But viola, another thing off my fix list

Nice, if you're still going for the VT brakes, I have a set of front calipers here, not sure on the bracket, will check, but if you want them, you pay postage and you can have them.

VT I have to get adaptor hubs. I'd probably go finned VN v8 or vlt calipers, with vs booster and master, straight in
