Xcede tuner in Sydney for IM240 emissions test.

Lads, quick question for a customer. He has a 200 series with a Bullet supercharger kit and needs to get it through emissions testing and it is running an Xcede on the car. It is pretty close but needs to be cleaned up in a couple of areas. Does anyone have a recommendation on who might be able/interested in doing some tuning work while it is undergoing the IM240 so that he can get it through.

    Cheers

In the early 2000ís, Street Machine had modified a VT Commodore with a supercharger, and got it passed for emissions by wrapping the exhaust from headers to tips in exhaust wrap.

Burnt off any nasties heading down the pipes.

    Just an idea

So dilution is banned as intentionality defeating the test but using a polar fuel which seems not to be registered by the HC sensor in the 5 gas is sweet as? Or does the e85 just drop combustion temps enough to reduce oxides of nitrogen without as much excess fuel?

Do they actually use something to measure total exhaust flow ir is it some dodged up equation that multiplies the PPM/% gas count by engine displacement and some other factor to get the g/km figure?

Seedy, this is going to need more than an exhaust wrap as it has to meet post 2006 emissions standard, like I said it is very close the bloke just wants someone there to tweak it rather than having to drive home to Canberra book dyno time, tune and then head back to Sydney for the one day a week that the testing station is open.

E85 does make life much easier as it runs cooler so you don't get the NOX like you do when you lean out 98 to pass emissions. I mentioned this to the bloke early on and he was not interested as he wanted it proper legit and E85 would not allow for that given the intended use for the vehicle.

    Cheers
