So sold the existing ps out of the old girl

Kids are mad for buying 33 power steering pumps

Anyway this is on the way

400 extra a speedflow connectors and a one way valve

    And apples

Wtf do you need that much engine bay space for? Arnt the clutches vacuum assisted also, and therefore pretty heavy?

Someone once asked me if they could use my mower. I said "sure, so long as it doesn't leave my yard"

    It does remove some weight

Space is a bonus for when I fuck the motor it's easier to pull out and put in

Another bonus is heat more space more airflow keeps shit a little cooler and that is a real issue for Gtr's that do more than one lap

It's still a hydraulic PS rack - the Astra pump just replaces the engine driven pump with an electric pump that you can put anywhere you want.
There are kits available for dialing the assistance level up and down to tune it to what you want too.

The full electric steer setups involve replacing a chunk of the column with somethign out of a more recent shitbox -they're the ones that don't have a good rep in terms of steering feel.
"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

What sort of current is that electric PS pump going to pull when steering around at carpark speeds out of curiosity?

i think people have done this with 964-993 911's to have less lines back to the engine bay etc

Yea it saves a lot of engine bay lines

Current not sure but have ordered a 150amp alternator to be safe

So in the gtr the reservoir is gone pump gone bracket gone
Also the high pressure line across the back of the rack
And the return line running forward and across the subframe(see pics)

Doesn't look like much but once the engine is in that shit is just anoying and gets in the way like a mofo

you also save a belt on the front of the engine

The Astra pump is lighter and I just use 1 inch alloy pipe under the car as cooling

So the whole lot. Weighs about the same but the weight is out the back and the lines go into the back of the rack so non of the shit up from that gets in the way

Fuck its funny to see how a seasoned GTR owner tackles a newly purchased GTR

Buy it, immediately strip it and start again
