    Goldilocks: The VK Berlina stocker

Found this in Hillside two weeks ago and picked it up on Sunday.

Deceased estate (grandpa car, sold by grandson who thought the car was too good to chop up and turn into a Brock replica).

202 Carbie trimatic bog stock. Mistletoe paint with Avocado interior - interior looks mint and paint is pretty damn good - some touched up stone chips and no visible rust around the rear window, scuttle or a/b pillars.

Even has period sun-visor and Aunger rear louvre.

Drives well, brakes need a bleed and new pads/front rotors properly bedded. Needs a new zorst and rocker cover gasket, came with newly fitted radiator. Also needs tyres as the bridgerocks fitted are full of sidewall cracks

SWMBO has sworn me to keep it stock (on pain of withdrawal of marital privileges for a while) apart from period alloys (thinking period OEM 15 x 7 with 205/60R15 tyres or maybe some period HSV stuff in 15") and new steering wheel - again thinking period 3-spoke SAAS or something like it.

Jury is out on the 202 - could be full of black motor nasties, but hoping all is OK with it given that it runs just fine and is not blowing smoke. If not, it is off to Moe Engines for a rebuild based on one of the unicorn blocks they have. If that is the case, I might break the keep it stock rule and stick injection on it (3 x TB etc) and a small cam. Plenty of time to worry about that.

Intending to use it for Sunday drives to the local market and maybe up to Stawell to visit MiL.

New 2" zorst this weekend, then fit wheels/tyres and send it for roadworthy for H-plates - application already filled out.

Mint, strangely I've been glancing at early commodores recently and had decided I'd go with steel bumpers if I pulled the trigger on one...

Real neato. Cars like this used to be commonplace but must be few and far between in 2017.

Nice find. Personally I'd leave it exactly as is.

    x234ty.

Funnily enough I spoke to a fella who bought a pretty clean red VK Berlina at a meet recently. Same deal saved from a 'brocky rep bro' resto'd and stuff.
Has the 202 in it and walky wheels. Looked trick as.

It's refreshing to see an early commodore without an ls1 in it to.

This is obviously assuming all your AUX outputs are doing something. Ie idle control, and the other does water spray, and the other updates your Instagram automatically etc.

I'd find a set of the nicer style of vk hubcaps & leave it as just detail/service the fuck out of it + 60 day rego.
an easy fix is get a mate to drive in front of you at 60 then 80 then 100 and mark in on your speedo with some liquid paper.
