Allroad s lead to Ingolstadt v3.0 TDI

    So after dealing with first world problems such as, what should my 10th 2nd hand Shitbox be whilst making the nopics think I'm being sensible it seemed after reading the following;

    http://www.performanceforums.com/for...s-2014-XC60-R/

    http://www.performanceforums.com/for...trol-or-diesel

    http://www.performanceforums.com/for...o-S60-Polestar

    http://www.performanceforums.com/for...-Edition-2017/

    http://www.performanceforums.com/for...s-2014-XC60-R/

    http://www.performanceforums.com/for...cue-Benz-GL500

    I quickly came to realise;

    A. The modern 3.0 litre direct in jection diesels are a fucking good thing.

    B. Audi gearboxes in DSG world are explody

    C. Audi q5's in Diesel are Better on the eye but not as good as the BMW X3 3.0 diesel but are $10k+ more for similar yr plus KMS and

    D. All these euros depreciate faster than a lambo in a third world shithole.

Cue. I bought an allroad. Good motor, higher spec than Q5, same space as q7 without the pork, same non DSG gearbox, and no Q5 soccer mum tax.

Have run it from Vic to sa (AVG 6.5litres/100) then did school holidays in Adelaide for 2 weeks, now need to run it back to Brisbane next weekend.

Is a good place to be, plenty of ground clearance, lots of poke, and AVG 9/100 around town so far. Will update more as we go.

Boot space hits the nopics tick and has some funky tie down and aluminium separators which are really handy. Dog in pics is 60kgs, IE a big fucker. Wheels are for my a70 :-)

I was under the impression that all Allroads had air suspension?

Yes air suspension and torque converter 6 speed. Air shocks don't scare me. I paid $17k with 85,000kms from new, full Audi service history. If I had to drop even $5k on suspension (which I won't) I'm still in a good bus.

I hadn't considered these, although looks like the boot might still be abit small for our next dog, same breed as my last one. Can your's stand up in the boot?

Yes bud he can stand up easily and do 360's etc. Only with the cases in there, the way the rear glass slopes meant where I stuck him he could turn around but not stand up. If I'd put him at the front of the boot near the rear seats he would have been able to stand even with cases in there.

    3.0 TDI wagon race?
"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

Same space as a Q7? Tell that to the dog! lol

The A6 has about 50% less boot space than a Q7. The Q7 is cavernous.

There's pretty much an optimum point in time for Diesels i reckon - just before they started using urea in them (add blue or whatever). The DPFs can be dealt with pretty easily, and they're modern enough that really solid performance is part of the package.
    Fuck anything newer!

This is actually a really sensible purchase even for you, great looking thing, practical, has fasts and tunability options out the wazoo.

    Well done.

Yeah I hadn't looked it up but they look the same to me. Cavernous is the GL or landcruiser. With rear seats up you can still fit full size luggage etc, not in a q7

So this fucker is chugging along. I found a local guy with the right tools so she is likely getting a dpf clean and flash tune.

    171kw to 226kw and 480-600nm.

No pics likes it, is frugal and good school run about so far. Tank is small but last 70 litre fill got 780 KMS of urban school run driving. Cost is about $50 per week less than the big Benz on same KMS.

I parked it next to my mate's stock cruiser to get a pic of the ground clearance. It's ok for a wagon.

Tune is pending resolution of a minor error. Am currently trying to decide if I believe this site:

    http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/s...2008-and-P2011

I have p2011 fault code intermittently. It seems that there are a set of flaps on a rod and the rod bearing wears leading to leakage. It's part of the EGR and emissions piece apparently, and car doesn't drive any differently. Still reading.

Here's the fix though it seems most people ignore it:

    https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a8-...ement-2879370/

Have confirmed that ecu is readable and can be programmed, so that's next week's job.

Today she copped a tint. Express tinting (msg lickmyleftone on here) hooked us up well.

That's crazy cheap for 60kw and 120nm or so. These VAG 3 litre diesels are such an underrated motor, blokes are tuning in them in the new Amaroks and running mid 13's for the quarter mile. Just batshit.
