LOL. I have organised entry for the Saturday, not included in my "invitation", in the hope of seeing some of my friends racing in support categories etc.
If I can actually get to the track on Saturday would be good to catch up with some PF people. Will have to rent a car to get from Leura to Bathurst and back.

Will also be trying to catch up with people on the Sunday, can't imagine spending 10 hours in a bar is the right way to see the 12 hour, especially as an amateur motorsport competitor myself,
I want to see the process and procedures as I am thinking of getting involved in the 300 km races etc. in the near future.

$3850 for 4 nights (Thurs to Mon) for a house in Russell St - just over the other side of the GWH - so sub-10min drive.
Has 4 bedrooms with 7 beds (I chuck an air mattress in the study downstairs as well).

Lemme know if you're keen on renting your place for B12 or the 1000

The problem is what you do with it the rest of the time. The people we rent from the 1000 go on holidays. Rent for 1000 is way higher than B12. We pay a bit less, but get a house half the size.

I'm hoping the second track get up. If it does... I will fully furnished it in and offer it up for short term rental.

    2018 Bathurst 12 hour

Fark that looks good. Will be up there early arvo tomorrow. If anyone sees a David Koresh lookalike trying to put up a tent in Paddock and fucking up the pegs in the process feel free to say hi.

I am actually heading down in the morning - first time ever for any Bathurst event.
I am staying in the next town with some mates but would love to catch up with any PF crew who are going. I was meaning to post something a week ago but its just been crazy with work ect and now just doing last min packing.

Would be also handy to know any tips and tricks like best place to watch ect with a general entry ticket.

Watch the start from Skyline. You will never forget it. The sound of the cars climbing the mountain and then the headlights appearing sends a chill up the spine. The speed at which they come over the brow in the dark is a sight to behold.

This. They have a big screen at McPhillamy Park as well, and watching the sunrise from up there is spectacular. There'll be a queue of cars trying to get up the top of the mountain early, so I'd say plan to be up there by about 5AM to beat the traffic and get a decent spot.

If want any merch get in early as it has sold out in previous years. Usually setup behind the pit garages at the Pit entry end. Food and drinks stalls have been pretty sparse in previous years. may be better now

This is still the best motor sport event I have ever attended, although sounds like they're starting to crack down on some of the freedoms from previous years. Also more popular, so moving around and getting the best vantage spots isn't as easy as it used to be.

    Shoosh!

Now I'm trying to figure out if I can do the 4hr trip up, watch the race, and come home all in a day.

Expecting a number of teams to run some qualifying simulations in the next session, so chances are we'll see them in the 2s.

Fastest lap in P4 was a 2:03.1 before it was cut short by a red flag.

Definitely mid to low 2s for qualifying, maybe even a high 1?

Like a couple others that have mentioned it, i've never been to Bathurst to see an event, anyone been and camped up the top of the mountain for the 12hr??

Thinking next year will be on the cards, what should i expect in regards to getting a decent spot for viewing from campsite if possible? or close to? Can show up on thu/fri and jag something or do you have to be one of the die hards and camp their all fucking week for a good spot?
I wouldn't recommend sex, drugs or insanity for everyone, but they've always worked for me...
