    Speed Density vs MAF

Can anyone explain the pros/cons of Speed Density over MAF and vice versa, and what their experiences are?

    Thanks in advance

MAF is more likely to work well on a packaged tune. It is more accurate and will compensate for some changing conditions better than MAP only tune. MAP with exhaust back pressure is more robust than intake only.

OEMs use it for a reason but packaging constraints and big cams/ports can cause reversion issues on MAF systems.

It is really about compromise which is application specific, you can get MAF sensors now that present very little restriction and up to massive flow with good turn down due to non linear scaling.
