They're not quite there yet, but that's not a bad option in that price range:

I'm guessing that no pics of roof/damage is a bad sign

Our yard at Dapto got hammered by the hail earlier in the year and all the damaged cars got auctioned on site.
We then got the contract to deliver the hail damaged cars to the dealer.
I took 7 Santa fe's to Hyundai at Windsor last week and old mate goes oh these are the hail damaged cars and im all no mate these are all good no damage on them.
Boss comes out and confirms they where then we proceeded to look for hail damage........sooooo minor that you could barely see anything even when looking with an eagle eye.
There would have beenn no problem selling them and not even mentioning the hail damage as i doubt any punter would see it.

Yep hella soft and have no desire to own a full size sedan nor pay the costs to own/run it.

If I had a job that would be different though.

My brother and sister (nopics to both) had one. They aren’t exciting but for cheap transport they are a good thing

Yeah cheap reliable is what its about at the moment, once I'am re-established here and working again I'll look at spending some coin on a weekend toy.

Yes cheap and reliable. Will work faultlessly for five years.

    Seats are crap.

    You have no soul.

IMHO I'd have eaten my words (your hate of Fords) and bought a small Fiesta. Heaps of fun, A/C is woeful and the Thai build quality won't last three years. BUT IT WILL BE FUN TO DRIVE.

You've become a responsible adult. Where did it all go wrong with you mate?

blows me away the amount of features this i30 has compared to my old Maz 3 that cost me double, the 8 year warranty and roadside assist is nice as well !!

To be fair, “double” would surely be due to taxes where you woz ... ?
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

it cost what it cost regardless of taxes but to be honest it is not fair comparison due to fluctuating exchange rates and whilst the i30 is way better spec'd the build quality and ergonomics are of a lesser quality but for a reliable shitter it ticks all the boxes, once I have a job I will go back to looking at something a bit more exciting but before that can happen I need to get my leg sorted out.

Is the extended one of those ones where you have to get your car serviced at a Hundy dealership to get the extra 3 years or can you still get it serviced at any
    normal workshop?

8 years is bloody good though and if your going to get it serviced at a stealership then may as well be that one i guess.

Hmm ... the damage a dealership will do is likely to hurt resale more than the potential out-of-warranty repairs to an I30 between 5 & 8 years of age ...

No the dealership will start damaging the car from the first service; this is why I go to an independant.
Costs less than the “fixed price” dealer service, too.
Only downside is not getting any software updates for free, but I suspect Holden dealers don’t do those unless you complain anyway (may not be the same for Hyundai).
