QLD unrestricted bike license Q's. NSFW-ish

Can any PF Brisbane folks suggest the least time consuming option for someone old enough to have owned a restricted bike license ( max 250cc at the time ) for 25+ years and never got around to upgrading to a full unrestricted license and suddenly needs to do so?

    Just did it today.

If you ave the RE licence already, then book into a suitable Q ride provider, pay your money and go for a ride following the assessor for about an hour.

With the all the paperwork and shit, I was done and dusted in 2 hours from walking in the door to driving off to the TMR office to change my licence over

Awesome news. May I ask who you booked with and what it cost?

Cost me $140. I went with them as I did my RE course with them last year before the system changed to the 2 year wait to get the R licence.

I believe itís changed now but when I did Q ride back in 2004 or so it was terrifying. The fact I could ride a bike in a carpark without falling off meant I spent most of the half day watching people who couldnít. Regardless we all left that day with the ability to go buy and die on an R1.

It was like that way back when I got my R's through Q ride at the old Surfers Paradise Raceway. During the road part of the test they sent us out two at a time with one instructor following, and another one leading. The learner who was in my group did the first few K's with his bike stand down. He was also a danger to himself in many other ways. He passed the test.

If we are thinking of the same John, he now runs his own shop. https://www.facebook.com/Motodojoqride
