How much torque on unopened T400?

My cousin has a 350/T400 in a series 2 XJ jag. I want to gap rings, and cam/lifter/spring the 350 (with head studs?) and add a turbo. If box is in decent condition what will it handle. Can I rebuild one with decent parts without buying 11ty dollars in specialist tools?

Don't know about a T400 but I rebuilt a C6 no problem. Just needed a special tool to compress the clutch packs while you take a circlip out. Main issue was checking end clearance in the clutch packs and in the overall assembly. Just follow the manual and you will be fine. Would never pay somebody to do one again.

The yanks seem to have success with basically stock th400's behind boosted LS's, gotta be worth a shot?
I've got a build in the plan with a similar setup.

Beef the shifts up as hard as you can and see what happens, should take a bit before it lets go.
I dont think they are that hard to build but you need to half know what the fuck your looking at and doing.
