Swap the carbs around and see if the glowing runner follows?

Might be worth checking the baseplates for any cracks/damage while they're off; I had an old 202 powered HZ which stumbled/leaned out, but only when attempting to make left hand turns at speed. The baseplate of the carb had a crack from the bolt hole to the centre on the passenger side which was opening up just enough to cause issues - Was only apparent once the carb came off.

i'd be looking at the carb that serves cyl 4.

as each barrel serves a cyl

float level, jets clear-inc air correctors, main jet not loose , drilings clear etc

I'll check the insides of the carb again. Had a quick look and all seemed fine.

Swapping the carbs will be painfully due to the linkages but might need to

Block the throat to cyl 4 while idling and see what happens.
