Its been on my105 for ages for $250k.

I don't get it, every article i've read about Dale and this car says how he's lusted after it all his life. So why is he selling it?

The times i've seen he's done on track are mid 1.40's at SMP, production car lap times, he should be 10-15sec quicker. Maybe he's too scared of driving it properly due to dropping so much cash in it.

I reckon he's dreaming at $250k, so many better options for that money - GT cars, top level sports sedans etc. This car is pretty much not competitive and too valuable to race in sports sedans, you could beat it with something worth a quarter of the price.

I'd say it would be worth it if it still had all the original gear as it raced in the JGTC....

Iím guessing it didnít leave Nismo with the original engine anyway as tends to happen with ex JGTC/Super GT cars.

Yup, found the owner and talking to him by phone/email now. Car has an interesting history and it fits 2B ProdSports with a question over the turbo but I think we have a solution for that .....

How does it fit 2B Prodsports, its a sports sedan?! Space frame (i think?) full custom body panels, different engine, can't be serious?

Yeah, that looks like a prodsports car...

    Floorpan sports sedan at best.

Yeah I think that would struggle to meet 2B rules, even with the amendments for 2018. If it is spaceframe than no hope.

Best option for this would be to turn the boost up for 600rwhp, throw some fat slicks on it, and go tear it up in Sports Sedans

I don't think it's space framed, but it does look like the factory sheetmetal stops at the firewall.
Haven't looked at the 2018 amendments - what are the extra freedoms?

I have not personally seen the car, so I'm relying on others BUT the car is not a space-frame car. There are quite a few things that need to be ticked off but in concept it "fits" with the revised 2018 rules. If you have an opinion and have not read the revised rules, I'd encourage you to do so.

Yes, it could also go to Sports Sedans

Ahahahha, just had a thought - How many of the GT300 class chassis did Nismo build in 2 years?

And from skimming the rules, there's not much that's changed with the 2018 rule set?

It will be recognized as based on an S15 (which is already on the list) rather than NISMO S15 Sylvia GT300

The key question is wehther the changes NISMO made to the S15 "fit" within the 2B freedoms.

Anyway I'm taking discussion off the board because I can see where it is headed.

The car will either be OK as a Sports Car or not with Sports Sedan as an alternative - simple as that.

The only thing I can see it may struggle with is the tubbed front wheel wells and maybe the aero might be big.

The new freedoms in 2b make it a lot easier to build a car now, certainly makes it cheaper for me to get reliable horsepower from the SR for a lot less money now it's all off the shelf bolt on bits rather than getting the best out of standard manifolds.

It would be a great car to have a look at and see how things were done in Japan at the time.

Hopefully it does comply with 2b rules, but without seeing it it makes it hard to know for sure.

Some more aero freedoms for front splitters and undertrays, rear wings a touch bigger.

For turbo cars, turbos free but limited to 10% bigger than stock, manifolds free whereas previous they were restricted to standard. So for my SR makes it a lot easier to build a "cheap" motor with off the shelf parts like a disorders potato and decent manifolds.

Wheel widths no longer limited by weight of car.

They are the main freedoms that are applicable to my build. There are a few more. Makes the 2b cars a bit more Sports sedan like in some ways, but still retains the production aspect. The rules are more in line with what was allowed back in the late 60's.

Ok, re-reading the 2B ruleset, flares are unlikely to be legal, scratch built tunnel, rollcage through the firewall and missing back bumper don't seem to fit within the rules? Front tubs are fine "Inner mudguard skirts/wheel tubs may be modified to provide clearance for the maximum permitted complete wheel. In no instance may the chassis rails, whether separate from or as part of the bodyshell, be modified."
Strut tops will be a problem. "MacPherson strut top mounts are free providing that they utilise the standard bodyshell mounting facilities"
Also, the extent of the undertray may be an issue.

Yep, best course of action, put together a list of modifications from factory S15, along with some pics, and submit this to your local committee. They can then give you a 'nah that's way too far from stock' or 'yes we may be able to work with this'. It would be great to see some of these types of cars racing with Prod Sports, would fit right in with the 2B / GT mix.

Well that's going to make it hard, unless you fit another set in the original locations.

But as said before, the only way is to have the rules with you and just go through the car ticking and crossing where it does and doesn't comply.

But seeing more of the car, it looks like it fits in more with sports sedans, or a 2a sports car rather than 2b. But still a very nice but of kit.
