Garrett G25 series- anyone used them?

Looking for some real world results to confirm the power claims by Garrett.

    Looking to use 2x G25-660 with 0.92AR on a twin turbo V8 for 1000whp.

    Thanks

No experience, but damn they look good (for small engines).

The compressor maps indicate their power potential, you still need to work out how much flow you will need and at what PR.

    Thought as much.

Yeah I am interested as they are physically small due to packaging of factory turbos in this car.

If it helps engine details are:

    4200cc
    Quad cam
    40 Valve
    10:1
    7500rpm

Will be running E85 so I think they will make the power at high boost however ~2-2.5bar

A 2.1 litre bank of cylinders with 90% volumetric efficiency, running 22 psi of boost (pressure ratio of 2.5), at 7500 rpm will need about 44 lb/min of air. That's pretty much bang in the middle of the compressor map at 78% efficiency and I think it could make about 600hp.

The surge line at 1 bar of boost is at about 13 lb/min of flow, which works out to be about 2800rpm. In other words if it hits 14.7 psi of boost at 2800 rpm or less it will surge.

    I think it's a pretty good match.

has anyone taken the leap yet?

I have been enquiring about the g25-660 from turbotech but they're stating a 12 week lead time.

Cant see many back to back tests yet.

keep your eye on the Integrated motorsport time attack R34.

he's gone from a EFR 9180 with 1.44A/R turbine to twin G25-660s in the quest for more shove, so north of 1000hp is the target, as he would have been making that with the EFR.

I'm a bit torn on whether I want to throw one on the old TD42, or an EFR 6258 T4 for something not done before.

Above dyno is pretty darn impressive given the housing size.

Are these available with an internal gate?

MTQ just called me back saying the g25-660 with 0.92 rear is on special for today only. so I pulled the trigger.
Ideally wanted 0.72 rear tho but can always swap later.

Will have to do my own Back to Back test i suppose.

Taiwanese built TDO5's are still making 100hp atw more than is physically possible at boost levels they could never attain or sustain on an engine that you shouldn't try and make that sort of power from(however imaginary it is).

If you run it this is relevant to my interests as I want 1000hp +++ on a vr38 and need to packaging to be as small as possible
