    2014 200 series GPS update

Father in law has the above Land cruiser and the maps are woefully out of date, does anyone know the hotness in this without giving Toyota $400? There appears to be some eBay vendors but even they want about $300

    Any help is greatly apreiciated

    Have you tried GPS underground?

Also interested. Work colleague has a Jap import with the same system.

I did find that site googling and yeah for that price he'd just go genuine. I'll sign up and ask the question on GPS underground I guess :/ . Also as far as I know it's an SD card in the model he has, just plugs straight in the front near the screen.

If itís SD card chuck it in a PC and see if itís got any resemblance to a TOMTOM Carminat (what they call their built in GPS product). Mazda, Renault and a few others use this and you basically pay TomTom $100/year for map updates.

Good idea, I'll do this and report back. Agree with the above comment as well the whole interface is crap I would just use my phone if it was me but you know what old bastards are like!

There are reasons for the factory ones. Some have gyros, compasses, count wheel rotations etc so they work in tunnels,"urban canyons" and the like.
