Good move! You won't smell anything other than fuel.

Otherwise take up smoking yourself. It will fix any issues associated with smell or taste permanently.

You guys either have fitted them to the fresh air vents, or you're not opening the throttle far enough!

Being a Land Rover, I'd just let Lucas, Prince of Darkness finish the job.

Delica owners strip the entire interior and steam clean everything, including plastics.
My first service manager was a chain smoker, when he was sacked I had the job to cleaning his Magna company car. We gave up and wholesaled it through one of the other yards in the group, it needed the entire interior stripped and replaced. And to make matters worse the cunt was a wog who smoked some weird, strong shit which stank like hell.

I don't think that smell was the cigarettes.

Lol, nah, it was the fags. We reckoned he'd smoke half a pack commuting to and from work every day. I actually thought his car was fitted with brown interior, it was actually listed as grey.

I let the air con bomb thing off and it's much better again. I reckon it's at the point where the smell is there but it's not offensive. I've not found any of the brown gunk people talk about, thankfully I think he only drove it for about 10 months.

We've got a britax type thingo that I'll have a smash with on our days off. I'm pretty confident we can largely beat this, I really just want to sell it anyway.

My m3 was a smokers car, I pulled the front seat and cleaned the carpets/headliner 18 times using valeting machine and odor eliminator then conditioned the leather a further 18 times, changed the cabin filter and it is now tolerable. A lot of work but but cheaper than lighting it on fire.

I do the dirty jobs in houses, suicides, etc. Ozone is your best friend here if you can protect the plastics and rubbers.
Also encap (encapsulation)clean all upholstery prior to ozone treatment.
If done properly, she will be good as new

    Cheers guys.

I've been looking at cheapy ozone generators. What's a reasonable size for this sort of thing?

From memory of my time doing death scene clean ups. They aren't the nicest of places to be. Glad I got out when I did. Pretty nasty sights, smells and shit to deal with.

If you're using an ozone generator, make sure you follow the instructions. The ozone will destroy a lot of rubbers, and I think a way around this was to smear Vaseline over the ( rubber ) surfaces that the ozone would come into contact with.

The Vaseline will also damage rubbers and plastics as well in the longer term, although for short term exposure it should be fine, but you'd have to clean it off well, then retreat the plastics with something more sympathetic to their chemical make-up.
