    racewars 2018

    Anyone here go?

In my home town, missed it last year. Made it down with the 3 year old in tow, so didnt get to see everything or get any photos/video's. What I did see was good but. $20 got you a 3 day pass and kids under 12 free, great value. There was 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile, 200 mtr grudge racing. Pretty sure there was more today including the 1000mt. Matchups were at random, and runs were quick, once the 2 cars crossed the finish, the next 2 were off within 30seconds. Had a mondo drone getting footage. Big screen tv with live multiple camera views of the finish line during every run. As they run it at the town airport, stricly no skids, though this year they had a section to warm up the tyres which was mint.

Massive range of cars there. Alot of very nice machinery. From clubmans, corvettes, mustangs new and old to your standard range of mad commo's, bmw's, escorts, torana's, monaro's new and old, a heavy lineup of skylines and s15's, a 800 hwp srt jeep, a tesla, a lambo, old mazda rx7 blowing the doors off shit and an au coon twin turbo ls that went like the clappers. Lifted patrols with turbo v8s. Lots of LS LS2 LSA LS7 twin turbos, Turbo barra's and NOS setups.

Was hoping to find some photos. Didnt get to see alot, although saw a 299kmh pass on the 800mts, and someones engine give way at the back end of the straight.

    Surely someone on here went?

Car entry list is pretty impressive, over 200 cars i believe
. Made for some very interesting runs......

Still in a-town atm. Good event. Impossible to walk through the pits without bumping into friends every few meters. Great atmosphere. Huge hp cars really trying their hearts out today. A few terminal failures (blocks broken rods out the side etc). That smurf blue supra just freightrains once he gets onto boost but it doesnt get the show on the road till the 300m mark. Theres so much to be gained in setup. Some cars cant use what they have and others can put down what they have and not make a fuss at all.

Numbers seemed down on last year. 166 entrants posted times so not sure what the rest were doing.

will post some up here once i get home.

Agreed, its a great event with lot of variety, competitors were all great to talk to
pretty crazy that you need like 700+hp and 300km/hr to crack the top 10

Still here for the sprint tomorrow

The winner of the first event in 2013 would have finished 15th this year - nuts.

Jose's Supra and Ant's GTR need tweaks to put down the power - both are insane cars. As are anything in the top 10.

Simons Au has to be the car of the event - AU Falcon, turbo ls1 - legit "low" budget build to roll over 300 is just nuts.

Yeah, the wind really picked up yesterday arvo but they kept pushing anyway.

Only have a few picks of the pits because my mates car supercharged water/meth injected R32 Golf busted the gearbag without even getting a run in so we hit the bar hard.Click image for larger version.

I spent about 20mins talking to him in the line just before this happened. It was a major sausage.

Jaffa and I are still here.. currently giving Wilsonís brewery a test run.

Seriously awesome event, disappointed not to have got the cars here this year, but we are already putting plans in place for 2019.

Thanks. 206 after 400m shows what a brick it is. Also there was no burnout pad this year. Dirt on the tyres and go on the tarmac.

I love the event - i loved the idea of the event when i heard about it happening the first year

Albany is a great host, and seems to actually want the event there

I got followed by Highway patrol for at least 5km on Saturday as i was doing a bottleshop run with my mate, and they could clearly tell i was shitting bricks as i was doing 5kph under the limit.. so they pulled over to let traffic past them so they werent right behind me.. fucking awesome

    Just got home from there
Ran my 800hp plus VF ute there.
Struggled with traction, and reeled of 274.4km in 800m with wheel spin to near the 650m mark.
Next run, tore idler pulley off passenger side head, so that was it for me.
Was a bloody great weekend as usual.
The amount of big hitters there was amazing!

Was there both days as well spectating, great line up of cars. Spent a bit of time with a mates 2JZ S13 which kept puking it's oil into the catch can. Poor bastard was understandably gutted, usually fires more runs than anyone over the weekend top only getting about 4 in this year and not able to get a clean run in.

Yohoes your car sounded great all weekend and hauled ass. Matt sorry we didn't catch up mate weekend was a blur.
