    1982 Suzuki Katana

I realise it's unlikely a PF'r will want this thing, but...
    Running Gear:
    Braced 750 Frame,
    Narrowed TL1000R swingarm
    Ohlins rear shocks
Stock forks with Ractech springs and a set of cartridge emulators, Tarozzi fork brace (recently treated to new seals and sliders).
18" wire wheels (3" and 4.5" wide), Outex tubeless conversion.
18" front mudguard from Unicorn Japan
    Slabby GSXR1100 gauges
Battery and electrics tucked in with custom battery carrier/electrics tray
Pazzo Levers, GSXR radial master cylinder on the front, with 300mm discs and SV650 calipers (actually stops now - note, the brakes hadn't been fitted at the time of a lot of the photos)

    Engine:
    GSX1100 motor
    JE 1170kit
ported head with big valves, heavy duty springs etc.
    big cams
    heavy duty cam chain.
RS36 flatslide mikunis fed by a Pingel tap, Mikuni ram tubes and ramflo filters
    Carbon Yoshimura heatshield for carbs
crank has been trued by Joe Marshall
    GSXR shifter spring.
welded second gear, have replaced about half the gears in the box
modified oil pickup to eliminate pulling air under acceleration or low oil levels
oil cooler, fitted with an GSX 1100 EFE oil filter cover to ensure full flow
    modified cases to improve breathing
Megacycle 4into1 exhaust with early 80's Yoshimura can
Alternator and starter clutch converted to 2006 onwards GSXR600/750 - less rotating mass, stronger starter clutch, with a shindigen series reg rec, cover modified for more clearance
Modified ignition bobweights to retard ignition for easier starting
    Dyna Coils
    Dyna Rev limiter.

Billet conversion mount (bottom mount under engine)
Custom CNC'd rearsets with Brembo master.
    Custom CNC'd sprocket cover.

It's got maybe 5000km since the engine rebuild, handling is well sorted, makes a great noise and is pretty quick. Weighs about 205kg with a half tank.
Comes with some spares (stock brake calipers and discs, stock front guard and brace, stock swingarm and a parts motor)
    $13,000 or best offer.

"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

I love them, but not enough to sell mine. Awesome bike for the right buyer though! (I'd change the front guard though)

If you look at the 2nd, 4th and 5th pictures, you'd see it's got a front guard that fits now. Has had for 2-3 years now.

Sorry to get your hopes up with the bump, I’d love it but too many reasons not to be so silly.

You may or may not be aware, there’s a new Katana coming out with much mystique and anticipation. And likely publicity. Perhaps soon is the time to sell this rather than now.

I think most people into old katanas couldn't give a flying fuck about a tarted up GSX1000S. Although we should be thankful, the GSX1000S is minging
