    E30 Ls2 Conversion???

Guys i might be getting some insurance money (got cancer and havent got alot of time)
And ive always wanted an e30 convertible with a ls2 in it, ive helped with conversions before but usually jap stuff, ma61 1jz etc (helped) Have helped with a e30 auto to manual conversion on my old e30
Is there anyone in Qld that has done this before or a workshop that is reasonable priced that was done one before, ive seen all the kits from the USA
    which makes life alot easier
I have a huge shed and if the insurance money comes in ill get a hoist installed
So it can be done at my house as i have the space, tools etc just not the overall know how
If anyone has any advice id love to here it
I live on the sunshine coast qld

ps ive seen the bmw mob that does conversions and seen there prices, it nearly made be get cancer all over again

Can't help with the conversion stuff at all, but very sorry to read the reason wanting to get it done.

Hopefully you can get it sorted quickly and get some time to enjoy.

    Where are you located?

Also if you structure the thread we should be able to decide as a team which conversion bits and direction the build should take to meet your requirements and budget

Have you got an e30 already? Prices are going through the roof for good examples with usual sought after options. If not, id probably be prepared to budget 10k for nice car before even starting the project.

I know I'm being Debbie Downer Ö but does it need to be legally registered?

    *edit*
Wait, I take back my Debbie Downerness! Didn't realise the 325i's official weight was 1275kg Ö so 6L engine fits under 5x that!

Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

    not necessarily.

You see some good ones come up for 7k or less.

If you go 4 door even less. Verts seem to get the best dollars.

So guys I have got some of the insurance money but of course the first thing is to buy a home for my family, if all the money from the different insurance mobs comes through I'll hopefully be starting this in the new year!! Will be going with the sikky kit, I have a big shed and I'll have a 2 post hoist. Will be going hopefully with adaptronic ecu if they give me a good price (Andy!)

My E30 sense tingled so I fired up PF

AM isn't Al anymore, but you can't go wrong with Miles or Al.

Happy to trip up and help those guys with anything electric they can't sort

It'd be good to catch up again, even under the circumstances.

Is it a small engine bay - Al loves putting LS's in them! Al would be the pick on the Coast but obviously depends on what he has on I guess.

Whether it was Skid Factor, your place or somewhere else I'd be happy to help however I could as it's in my neck of the woods and I am on leave until 13 Jan. I don't know how to fab beyond simple brackets or how to fit an LS but can lift heavy stuff, do/undo bolts and probably more with the right instructions....I'd learn a lot too! All else fails I can ensure a constant flow of cold lemon squash.
