Bullshit. Holden would never enter an event with a vehicle that was outside the spirit of the rules.

Overproof?

I'm vaguely surprised they don't have anything resembling the HRT427 there. I know that theoretically they're all sold already, but so was the Lancer Evo 6 TME ...

The difference is that they had built the TME evos (btw, Ive found 8 at dealers, all less than 1000kms, all regoed) & they havent built the 427...(except the show car).

Methinks the rules holden runs by are written in a parallel dimension: I keep hearing about Brock's car being a "lightweight version" and having "a lot more power than last year". Oh and the main reason the White's aren't up further is because Jason and JOhn are currently sharing the driving duties-e.g when the pace gets quicker, Jason will take over. I think Brock will be slipping by the end of today or tomorrow. Theres a good stage round the corner from me on friday, I'll see if I can get a digi camera-its a hillclimb with switchbacks and slippery hairpins, good spectator stage...And my main testing road. There are perks to living here
cheers,
floody

This morning:

"Crashes & heavy rain at The Sideling: Leg 2 - May 15

Queensland driver John Grounds was taken to Launceston General Hospital today with minor neck injuries after flipping his Subaru Impreza on its roof in the opening stage of the second leg of Targa Tasmania. Navigator Gary Grounds was not injured in the crash, which occured in The Sideling stage, held in wet conditions.

The Nissan Skyline GTR, driven by Queensland's John Atherton also flipped on its roof during The Sideling. Atherton and navigator Ian Young, of West Australia, were not injured. Rain is falling in most areas of north-west Tasmania, where today's second leg is being held. Full report later. "

Bit of action this year.
cheers,
floody

Should be interesting to see the results tonight- I am interested how the GT-R's will cope in the wet. One thing I'm semi certain of is that Brock's monaro will be going backwards in the standings.
It can't have sprouted awd....
cheers,
floody

Yeah, good call edo. Then again, it doesn't matter much which wheels are driving, when they are both in the air....

To think we get this weather for targa, and almost not a drop of rain or a single cloud for the 2-3 weeks preceeding it

Right now weathers pretty average down in Hobart, so it must be hell up in the Northwest where targa is.

Here is the difference...

Everyone (except Jim) wakes up for day 2 at targa thinking oh shiiit its going to be slippery & awful today.

Jim thinks, sweet now I wont wear out tyres & have to cop the 2 minute penalties like I did last year...

Its all in the attitude!
